Fairbanks Lutheran On-Site Worship Services, Meetings, Events, & Activities

Dear friends in Christ,

  • Services for church worship are on Sundays at 10am. We are continuing online streaming of our services at 10am in addition to in church / outdoor worship  when scheduled. We will let you know as those dates are planned.
  • Some Bible studies have resumed meeting at the church using social distancing guidelines from our task force. Other activities are slowly being resumed with guidance – please be prayerfully patience as we continue this process (this would include weekly pastors text study, choir rehearsals, music lessons, social gatherings, youth activities, and other gathering.
  • Our Community Room is now open to all groups who have been previously been meeting at the church using social distance guidelines established by our reopening task force.

We have made some decisions for the good of our church and the community as a whole and appreciate everyone’s patience and prayers as we move through the rest of this year and into next year together.

Fairbanks Lutheran continues to be a worshiping community, though using some new formats. We are live-streaming and/or premiering recorded services on our Facebook page facebook.com/FairbanksLutheranELCA.

We continue to be a community of prayer and sharing our prayer list with you through our email distribution list.  If you or someone you know isn’t currently on our email distribution and they would like to be, please send the church their name and email address and we will be glad to add them.

The church continues to operate, just in some very different ways, and even in difficult financial times this congregation needs your ongoing support.  Please consider sending your regular contribution by mail (1012 Cowles St, Fairbanks, Alaska  99701) but please don’t mail cash.  This may also be a good time to remind you about things like Simply Giving, an easy way to arrange to make contributions electronically.  Please call Cathy Birklid (see your church directory or call the church office) and she can help you set that up.  To give online using VANCO GivePlus online or by mobile app  >>     CLICK HERE   <<

Members of the Church Council and Call Committee continues following up with check-in phone calls to the congregation so don’t be surprised if a leader of our church calls to ask how you’re doing, if you have questions, or if you’re in need of assistance.  We are a community of faith pulling together and looking to our merciful God in all the ways we can.  We would also ask you to consider checking in with the neighbors who live around you and with your friends from church; a simple phone call can be such a comfort in times like these.

Don’t hesitate to email or call; contact information is included below.  We are your servants and the community of Fairbanks Lutheran is important to us all.

We’ll close with this prayer from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal:
“Almighty and merciful God, you are the only source of health and healing; you alone can bring calmness and peace. Grant to us, your children, an awareness of your presence and a strong confidence in you. In our pain, our weariness, and our anxiety, surround us with your care, protect us by your loving might, and permit us once more to enjoy health and strength and peace; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.  Amen.”

Serving together with you in Christ’s name,
Your Church Council leaders
